OnlineAuction.com. Over the last few weeks I have watched this site grow significantly, some categories have more than doubled in volume, some have more than quadrupled. A week or so back their were barely two pages of Class A RV's, yesterday I counted over a dozen pages (766 listings) under Fleetwood alone. The other day there were less than half a dozen items under aviation, now there is an airplane. This morning I saw a Telecaster guitar signed by Roger Waters. I hope it works, I would love to see eBay and Paypal go the way of AOL. |

Been burned 3 times on e-bay - seller never shipped after payment. Way too hard to figure out how to recoup monies - out around 1000.00 Will check the site out - there are some Gov't auction sites that are also well done and depending on what you are looking for could be very lucrative. At the end of the day - not sure I saved any money but it sure is fun to buy stuff at 3 a.m. | |

| Unlikely, they have too much market share. However, if alternate sites grow enough, it will put pressure on them to be price competitive. Which in the end is what matters.

Needs a bit more refinement. No saved searches with emails on such. I assume it is searching titles and descriptions. Couple other items. However, bout time someone gave ebay a better run for their depreciating service and increasing costs. I especially didn't like the change in rating system that punished the seller and not the buyer: both can be flakes. Guide to the Galaxy: Don't Panic Rik -- LAH ! eBay Sellers can still leave negative feedback on buyers, it just has to be substantiated and can't be retribution for the seller's poor feedback.

I would love to see ebay and paypal have some competition. Ebay has skewed way too far to the buyer(if you are a seller). doug, if there is still time and you paid by paypal or credit card, i would dispute it. Ebay and paypal pretty much do anything the buyer says. It really is stacked against the seller. You should have buyer protection if you paid with paypal. simply saying the item never arrived (unless the seller can prove it did) is enough to get a full refund. thanks for the link art, i will check them out. I do believe Ebay could disappear. All it takes is enough people to leave and the word to go out they are corrupt and it could die almost overnight. They forget it is the seller who pays their bills. No sellers, no ebay. AOL was at one time the largest internet server in the world. They had almost all the market share. In their greed they raised their rates so high people left in droves. Once a large number were gone it met a tipping point, everyone left was suddenly alone in an empty room and felt stupid paying $22 a month and being laughed at by everyone who left. Its like the Passenger pigeon, they could only survive in large numbers. People left AOL in a seeming stampede The same could happen with eBay. If a large volume of sellers leave suddenly, the word is going to get out. People are going to start looking around and when they see a bigger better site out there that will be it. Once they PO all their sellers they will play hell getting them back. I know I wont go back. |
