Default Anybody like old stereos?

Last night I was given my uncle's Curtis Mathes Stereo from the late 50's that I have wanted my whole life. I am only 25 years old BUT these big old things always appealed to me. I have a vinyl collection that I had nothing good to run it through until yesterday when I was told I could pick it up if I wanted it. It's a solid piece of furniture and looks great (I think) even if it was silent and just makes my house look more complete. It's all tube powered with a 12 in and 3 4 1/5 speakers on each side. Sounds perfectly warm and rich. It's in perfect cosmetic condition but I will need to get the radio going again as only the phonograph is operable. Here's some pictures and a video clip. Notice the Campagnolo wheel to left of the stereo, that's going on the gt4 shortly.

And the video clip:

I remember those days - oldest thing I own now is a B&O that has been in a moving box for 10 years.

Very nice piece of furniture. Looks great. In stark contrast to the Bose iPod doc I use!

reminds me of the one my grandparents had. not sure why someone would want one. couldn't be the fidelity. what attracted you to that? sentimental value?

Sentimental value, I think it looks good and actually it sounds very nice.
