Chris- Congratulations. Work or an advanced degree or both? Seems like it took me 7 years to get through college, but only 14 months to get my masters. Was more motivated for the advanced degree.

Both, luckily my dad is the director of the Transplant Institute at a very large Hospital chain here in the Midwest so he's going to be circulating my resume, and then I am going to be looking into masters programs. I am leaning more towards business from biology, so I may look into an MBA. Not exactly sure right now. I'm not the lab junkie, but that is most likely going to be my first job

Chris- Good luck. For someone with a science background, an MBA is easy and you can probably test out of quite a few classes. That is what I did. My degree is in chemistry, very closely related to yours.

Andrew, with the skyrocketing cost to attend dental school, I think Chris made a wise decision, if he changed his path. w/ smiles Jimmy

Thank you guys!!! Andrew, I was considering Dentistry initially. I went into college as a Pre-Dental student, however after talking to many people I knew in the dental school it seemed too much of a risk. I know someone who graduated from dental school last year and hasn't found a job yet. He holds $34k from undergrad loans and $275k in dental loans with living expense debt too. I already am in $34k in debt with loans and am trying to get a lab job with a hospital. My dad was telling me that in many cases a hospital will pay for a grad school education while working for them. I want to do great things and I don't think dental or medical school are my only roads to achieving success although thats what everyone seems to think right now. Time to prove them wrong

Chris, congratulations on your achievements. When I graduated back then, I had $20,000 on my shoulder from GSL (government student loan), which I repayed in couple of years.
Our times in a state of constant flux. Dental education costs have become unbearable and ridiculous. Do what you think is the right decision for now. You can always return later if you still have the desire to do so. w/ smiles Jimmy
