Its funny. I travel between China and Singapore so much and get into so many vehicles that I can no longer be just chatting away with friends and subconciously approach a car from the correct side. When I approach a car I need to look into the window first to see what side I need to get into the car from. There's been a few times I've tried to get into a car from the wrong side while holding ignition keys. You want to talk about looking like an idiot. Getting into a car and grabbing for a steering wheel that's on the other side. The opposite has happened too where I go to open the driver's door and my friend is like, "Dude, this is my car. I'm driving." Here's a picture of the bridge between Macau (where they drive on the left) and Zhuhai (where they drive on the right). I'm glad I don't have to make that commute everyday! Capt. | I know my blood is infected with a passion for the culture. I'm probably the only Chinese/Singaporean out there with blue eyes. Still working on my Mandarin. I find the reading is easier than the speaking.

I go back and forth all the time. When walking up behind the car, you just need to see which way the rear view mirror is tilted. Then you know which side to get into.

| In both China and Singapore the parking is reverse in so you can see the steering wheel when walking up to the car. But you are right about when approaching from the rear. I never thought of looking at the mirror.
