Nathan, Magnum- If I lived in Quebec, I would go for a GL. Works all year long and has this neat little button that raises the car 4" or so when the snow is deep. Of course that is why you wanted an LR. My wife and I love her GL 550 and we only have a two car garage. | Ditto dear friend. We did the same and have to say, the GL is an outstanding vehicle and we have owned it for almost 2 years and every time I get in it, I get a similar feeling of joy/happiness that I get when I jump in the fcar. The GL is an outstanding vehicle and it is rare for me to ever say that for a depreciating vehicle, it is the first that I have not felt one ounce of guilt for paying the price. |

Well there were no real problems besides the radio and the door locks not working but they are connected to the same fuse (just like a Fiero Hahaha). When I plugged in a new fuse, the radio came on but the car wasn't. So a retard shop owner paid another retard who claimed to be a technician to get it done and the owner accepted it and removed the fuse. The leather, still don’t care, most have 5 year old cars with the same mileage with more wear. I will get it done at a later time; it still looks good but not showroom. Radio door won’t stay up, figured out that the curved steel plate that holds the radio door is riveted into the steel frame and it was loose. So I got pissed and popped the rivets out by prying the plate off. So when I’m ready to completely remove the console I will use the new plate I ordered from Ricambi and put bolts to hold it in place and then the door will work again. The mouse on my side doesn’t work and it’s perfect....works for me. I removed the 15 year old Clifford junk alarm that was killing the battery and bought a new one with 1050 cca. I fixed my MAF’s and it fixed the CEL. I also repaired the broken (twice) exhaust spring mount on the driver side (cheap shit). I’m having some beefy ones custom built. I am also removing the two garbage heat shields and having a one chrome piece made with Ferrari cut in it. Next thing that is coming off is those fugly intake tubes that looks like dryer ducts. I also found other shit I fixed and also a list on my improvement list but this post is already too long....LOL *Edit, why is the word intake underlined with a link to another thread????? ~ Mario 1990 348 TS (87284) “I build cars for young men that only old men can afford” - Enzo Ferrari Last edited by Magnum6464; 10-25-2011 at 05:59 PM.

Well I did some reading on the GL and it didn’t come up high on acceleration as if the computer was trying to figure out what to do before it gave the signal to get going off the line. I currently own a Sierra 2500 (3/4 ton truck for all you Euro guys LOL). It’s a 6L 4X4 Crew Cab and fits 5 adults 6’2 with ease. I also have the STL package which is fully loaded with leather like the Cadillac Escalade (same interior and features). It also has massive power (smoked a co-worker with his BMW 5 series, another story). Reason I'm saying this is I don’t want to go lower in class and power. I only want to go lower in size because I now work downtown and parking is tight. My truck is going to reach 70K miles next month so it’s still in good shape. I was looking for either an E320 4Matic or an E350 4Matic. It has to be AWD or 4WD. No RWD only and god forbid FWD. Damn....FWD sucks in winter...oh yeah you can accelerate but don’t try to turn or stop. That crap is for people who can’t accelerate and control their vehicles in snow. Anyways, I was looking at a LR4...damn that is SWEET...went for a test drive. It was fully loaded with the 76 cameras all over to completely see around the truck....hahaha nice. Suspension goes up and down but won’t stay up over 25km per hour (safety feature of some kind). The last one I was looking at was an Audi A8 Quattro. Not new, maybe 2-3 or4 years old tops. I was told by a few that they are better that Mercedes and BMW (would never buy a BMW so that’s out). I won’t keep my truck so I have to make a good choice. I have room but can’t justify having 3 vehicles when my wife has one unless I buy her an SUV and then we are at max capacity in our driveway and would have to do constant vehicle shuffle when going out. ~ Mario 1990 348 TS (87284) “I build cars for young men that only old men can afford” - Enzo Ferrari Last edited by Magnum6464; 10-25-2011 at 06:02 PM.

Magnum- As usual, the reviewers have no clue since I have been living with a GL 550 for four years. The seven speed transmission works great and the car goes like stink with 382 hp and 391 ft lbs (IIRC) of torque. 0-60 is low six second region, which is quick enough for a luxury SUV. Doug- If there is one person I would not like to see on Ferrari Life, it is Jerry. The rest of your list passes the test. Glad to see its all coming along, Magnum. I'm sure by this time next year you'll have it back in showroom condition.
