Updated my iPod yesterday, went from a 1st Generation Nano (4GB) to the new 4G Touch (32GB) - very nice Anyway when I went to Bluewater to get my new iPod the guy in the Apple store started to give me the lowdown on 'Apps' and how useful they were. So now I am browsing iTunes for Apps , however being somewhat cynical and at the same time curious I was wondering what Apps you guys use (if any) and which do you find most useful and why?. TONS: But I have the droid market place and we are sooooo different. Just purchased the Motorola XOOM today. Put on my wifi hotspot and it connects to the web anywhere. Will be downloading soon tons more. APPS: assuming you do more than tunes and movies - get Flipbook's PULSE and/or BBC News version too. - WORLD NEWS - EVERY, I mean EVERY paper, many mags you could want in the world - TUNEIN Radio - web based radio, which IS my RADIO for the 456. - The Weather Channel widget or app: GREAT - Color Note/Stickies. - Believe it or not I like a lot GASBUDDIE - Tons more, but more application driven like PDF converter and AUTODESK's Paint program. r Guide to the Galaxy: Don't Panic Rik -- LAH ! That is really interesting! That is a lot of Apps. It is amazing how BBC news is so popular outside the UK Got my first one! FT.com - The new FT app Going to check out Tunein Radio, Shazam, Rev, Bank stuff and a few others. Not sure what my next phone will be (due an upgrade soon) I am a bit crap at cellphones (just calls & txts) my last three upgrades ended up in a cupboard until the one I was using stopped working and that was just because I decided to strip and clean it and then I took out a fresh one - which is already obsolete! Gotta get wid da plan! . Current: 360 Modena Future: ? ----------------------------- 'Some people dream of success... while others wake up and work hard at it.' |

PS: REALLY Like the Dolphin HD browser, has many attachments that makes work easy, like encrypted autologging for your common ID/PW sites. Keeps the pages sorted into bookmarks that make sense, lets you configure each site like no cache, logout/keep-in, text size and opening features etc etc.]. Economist I get as pop sci, road and track, Smithsonian etc. etc. on WORLD NEWS, they have a very nice backgammon, chess, and checkers game too. Guide to the Galaxy: Don't Panic Rik -- LAH ! Got the Tunein App last night - Awesome! I like listening to live radio from other parts of the World with the weather and news and stuff (as opposed to just internet feed). Next will check out World News . Current: 360 Modena Future: ? ----------------------------- 'Some people dream of success... while others wake up and work hard at it.' |
