I just saw him race a few weekends ago in Baltimore. His merchandise trailer was right next to the track on Pratt St.

RIP Dan. Thoughts and prayers to his family and friends. A great loss for the racing community. It was the worst wreck I have ever seen aswell just a horrible way to end the season.

Agreed. In my opinion, open-wheel cars and oval circuits are a no-no.

We're out here in Las Vegas and I've been to the speedway, it was just too many cars out there at the same time.

Thanks - should have noted the 'open-wheel' aspect in my earlier comment - a huge issue. You can scrape paint and metal to some degree in the NASCAR format, but Indy (and F1) leaves tires which are critical, sticky and exposed...
