To you as well Doug!!! Glad to know you man!!!

And you are about to hit 1000 posts!! I knew you would beat me when you challenged me to that race.... That was when I knew I had a 22 day stint with no days off either....

Same here Patrick you are on a heck of a very good friend and it is much appreciated!

Hopefully those stints are fewer ... this place could use you around more.

Doug- Rosh Hashanah, no? Had to look it up. Happy New year. Do you have parties to celebrate?

I believe it's a day of personal reflection, praying and listening to the shofar so he really shouldn't be online and able to answer you until tomorrow

Happy New Year. I always think back to that episode of Entourage when Ari isn't suppose to work or make calls, great episode. That show was better back in those days.

Happy New Year

Ok lil insight ...

Jewish tradition says - that today I am inscribed in the book of life or not.

This book is made up of everyone - ALL YOU GUYS

It is written for the next 365 days of who lives and who dies.

No pressure right ...

If not then these are the options - being stoned to death wild animals tearing me apart or perhaps just dropping dead in the street.

Now the severity depends on my giving of Tzedakah - which is charity or living a righteous life ... doing good deeds determines how bad my death is going to be.

So posting here means I am alive as are all of you - nothing like a little pressure to do the right thing everyday ... and yes this the speech the Rabbi gives as an incentive to donate til it hurts.

So this is why our celebration of the New Year is so important - no pressure

Wow ... you are good!

Yes a few parties but mostly work - I dropped the wife and MIL off at services and called the dealer to find out where my G55 is

Hit port today - it's going to be a good year

Shofar calls people to prayer - prehistoric cell phone

Each time that damn thing blows it is to represent a part of the Jewish history.

From blowing life into Adam's lungs to celebration of life.

Honestly ... I always thought of it as a chance to check out the hot chics during services.

You may be thinking of Yom Kippur.

The day of attonement ... where once again I go to work.

I always felt g-d was ok with it as long as I gave a portion to the ones who need it most.

Greg, Doug- Learn something new every day. Now I can do one contraction in Yiddish. Sometimes my German is good enough to understand, but most times not.

I gave that up a while agao. It's a phase I am going through.

I presently have rebellion for organized religion especially after burying a cousin last October who survived 4 years at Aushwitz!

I have tried for years to make sense of all of that but still cannot especially now after she died.

I also realize that religion is a business which disturbs me. When one must pay $250.00/ticket for admission or be denied it's quite telling.

I certainly am not a good one with whom to discuss this issue at this time!
