Default Monster Trucks!!

Thanks to redtr for the back stage passes! Redtr's company owns this monster truck jam thing and he mentioned during the show that they did this every weekend around the country. The M&T stadium holds about 71,000 and i would say it was about half full. I was pretty impressed with how popular it was. Who knew? He said they were gonna take it over to europe and we got to wondering what our friends in france would think of 16 1500+ hp open header monster trucks storming out onto the field? I mean, it is a pretty crazy experience. The crowds were crazy for it. Anyway, good time.

Several of the trucks ended up like this during the freestyle competition. Several broke their wheels off or other catastrophic breakdowns. These guys were not shy about breaking their trucks to win. One guy went up this same hill and did a backflip! This guy just flipped backwards.

Airtime! These trucks jumped incredible distances and to incredible heights. And they landed flat on the ground, not on another ramp. This ruck probably got the most air. This pick is not at the top of his trajectory, but i calculate, based on the height of his tire, the top of his truck is over 30 feet high. My guess is this truck cleared thirty feet. It could jump over your house! Unfortunately for this guy, this truck ended upside down on fire after it landed! The crowd loved it. If i were to go again, i would probably come in at the end of the "races" and just watch the freestyle event.

FYI - the driver of that truck (i.e., Nitro Circus) is Travis Pastrana, former MX National and X games Champion. I was bummed he crashed so soon, it would have been nice to see him try the back flip.

the kids always like the Grave Digger, so we would go during fair times.

to me it was eh, whatever.....something to do with the kids.

They had a wrestling phase too along with the endless paint-ball gun purchases and outings.....

but, to each their own.
