So Tesla is suing Top Gear for driving the cars Tesla sent them to drive? What exactly did they expect I wonder? Electric cars have their place in the world and a race track normally just simply isn't that place....and the only thing trying will do is make the car look bad or at least highlight it's limits which seems to be what happened to the Tesla. I'm getting ready to launch a small comuter electric car into the US market.....and I can tell you it has no business bringing anywhere near a race track. It's slow and you will kill the batteries in no time flat if you are pushing it hard, but if your goal is to drive to work and back home without spending a lot of money, well that's a different story and a little electric car can do the job quite nicely and gives you a 100+ mile range. Priced at about $11000 (its a car, it drives, nothing more) and reducing the average comuter's energy cost by $50-$100/month it makes good sense......a Tesla at $100k on the other hand makes no sense at all. |

I agree with MK_E. TG is an entertainment venue, and Tesla took a chance into a predom. non-electric/hybrid market, ie TG is into combustion only. The lawsuit is nonsense. Actually Tesla should take the free publicity and just keep going with it in an entertaining way: Else James May, may change who they drop a piano onto. Guide to the Galaxy: Don't Panic Rik -- LAH ! I saw a Tesla today here in Lugano. It was the first I've seen. The owner looked very happy as he cruised along the lakefront avenue. I hope Tesla keep refining their product and that they do good business. I am actually planning to buy my first electrical vehicle. It will be an enduro motorcycle. There are two brands to choose from at the moment; Swiss made Quantya and Austrian KTM. You see out in the woods, nobody can hear it scream... Except for the front end smiley face, the Fisker Karma looks like an interesting item: Especially at the entry price.

| It's a little chinese thing. A buddy and I are havingthem built to our performance specs to make them into something we thing will work in the US.....100+ mile range, 60+ mph, ect. but very simple and inexpensive so people can buy it as a commuter car without felling like they can't own a second real car. It will be priced about $12k with the standard 100 mile battery package. Here's a couple pics of one of the prototypes from last week....its just about finished and ready for testing. |

How are you going to deal with all of the Crash test ratings etc? Seems like a ton of work on that side of the business! If you did not want to go fast there is always this option! http://www.gemcar.com/build/accBuild.asp?model=3 |
