Default A few horses must leave the barn. 246 GT & 365 GTB/4 Daytona Spyder

I heard the forum was a good place for information - didn't expect to find so many people worried about the value of these classics.

We are releasing a few this year so have a look - remember to buy quality. I see a lot of postings asking about the prices for parts and servicing...

This is one of several Daytona's in the collection - a 1972 365 GTB/4 - Spyder Conversion listed at: http://www.ferrari365gtbdaytona.com/

Then we have Ferrari 246 GT Dino that just had a major servicing and paint listed at: http://www.ferrari246gtdino.com/

Enjoy

Sorry. How rude of me. It was late and I had just finished some tedious updates to a website.I am a member of a few forums, but rarely post.

My name is Rob. I have had a serious addiction to vintage & classic cars for almost nine years now. I grew up around collections - and really did not pay much attention to anything over a decade old - until my friend acquired a 275 GTB. Love at first sight.

Have you all seen the Claude Lelouch shot film: Rendezvous in Paris? if so you'll understand.

That said - I still love the recent supercars - F40 and Enzo.

I have been working behind the scenes with this collection for almost seven years - and more actively in the last two.

Cheers!

Hi Boxer - the answer is neither. I am not a broker, agent, or any other type of commissioned rogue.

Officially, I am the collections manager responsible for sales and acquisitions and investment research. I am retained for that purpose - and to decide where the collection is heading. I am technically 'employed' by the collection, but do not earn my living from this activity. I do co-invest in cars and real estate - and have several other family-related businesses to attend to.

As I mentioned before - I am very passionate about these cars, and enjoy every aspect of driving, buying, selling, and engaging with other people who have similar passions.

So when you talk to me regarding one of our offerings - you are in essence talking to the owner(s). I am their direct representative.

Too bad that wasn't a 275GTB - he filmed it in a Mercedes and dubbed his 275's noise over it (something he admitted recently).

But I still love the movie and the sentiment behind it. And a heartfelt welcome here on FerrariLife!

Thank you Onno -

I had no idea, where did you hear that? -- does anyone know what model Mercedes?

Regardless, as you say - the idea - the art of it, is incredible. Damn fine camera work, no matter what car was used.

I'm still curious to know though.

I don't think it was a flash Mercedes like a 300SLR or anything like that, it was just a run of the mill saloon car he used and put the camera on the front end so that you never actually saw the car. As Onno said, the 275 soundtrack was overdubbed. I also heard that the film was speeded up to give a greater impression of speed - don't know how true that is?
Perhaps one of our more esteemed comrades like Krasnavian can shed light on this story.

The film itself does not look altered - and it claims at the beginning - in French - and probably in English / subtitles on the version you can order from England.

The dubbing is really good - the microphone was likely not attached to the camera (you'd hear wind etc - if it is real) - and probably was inside/ underneath.

Too good to be fake? Or why fake it in the first place?

Several Ferrari experts have convinced me on the internet. But the Wikipedia page also states a Merc: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/C%27%C3...un_rendez-vous

Bottom of the page - interview (in French) with the director himself and showing the Merc he used. http://www.smidgy.com/smidgy/2007/03...through_p.html

Hey Granucci,

Still kickin' - I was away in England at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. When I get some time I'll put up a whole load of photos (especially of the Ferrari) on my blog. I'll post a link when they are up.

Still have the Daytonas, sold the Dino. Have a couple of 308's now. One we just painted and looks great (we are selling that one). Also have a 330 GT 2+2 to move. And of all cars a 1965 Lincoln Continental Convertable (yeah I know). Cool boat though.

Did anyone catch the auctions this past weekend at Pebble Beach/Monterey? The Ferrari pulled in some big bucks. Overall I liked what I saw. The results are in on RM's site, and on Gooding & Co. site.

We've decided to have a main inventory page, and eventually I'll put up some photos of the permanent collection. We've had a photographer come and shoot them and he is selling the prints. So you can see a good portion of them at www.ferrariphoto.ca - enjoy and be in touch when I get the Goodwood photos up.

- Granucci, are you selling the 365 2+2? PM me with the price or some photos. That car has beautiful lines. I like it much more than the 330 GT 2+2.

Thank you Jimmy, of all the owners forums this seems like the place.

Is your 275 GTB a four cam or a two?

We restored a four cam a few years ago - it came in boxes from Paris (if i remember correctly).

It is a 2 cam, all alloy body, long nose, an early 1966 #08191. w/ smiles Jimmy
