Thought it would be a good idea to make a list of Dino owners on Ferrarilife Please post up a picture of your Dino and some info about it. It's up to you what info you want to provide but an example would be: Model: 246 GT Year: 1972 Country: Belgium Steering: LHD Chassis number: 16876 Ferrari colour: Rosso Corsa Interior colour: Nero In order to keep the thread on topic, please only post once in this thread with all the info you would like to provide on your Dino. Thanks. |

Model: Dino 246 GTS Year:1974 European version Current country: USA (I have been told by one source that the car was originally sold in Italy--I do not know how to confirm that information) Steering: LHD Chassis number: 7580 original paint color: verde medio metallico original interior: tan vinyl The car is currently being repainted the original verde medio metallico. The interior remains original. The engine and transmission are original. Last edited by Boxer; 12-23-2008 at 08:06 AM. |

Didn't realize I have not registered my Dino here yet. Here's the infos: 1969 Dino 246 GT Tipo L Model #0508 only 81 were made in 1969 European model LHD Black/ Red-black, original delivery was Italy and yellow. Bought in 2004 with 64,000km original reading. Currently residing in Yokohama/Tokyo, Japan and I believe I am the 5th owner. When I became interested in Dino, I narrowed down my choice to Tipo L model or 206 GT. (At the time, if I were willing to spend more, I would have probably bought a 206 GT). My reason for the L type,... it was more of a cross breed between 206 GT and the latter M and E models. Many parts (details) in L model was a carry over from the original 206 GT. Some include interior's basic layout such as switches, foot rest, hand grip at door sill, no radio, no A/C, no frills, head rests detached from chairs, thinner bumpers as in 206 GT, central windshield wipers, etc. The only things done were reupholstering the interior. No major repairs or restorations performed as yet. Personally, I just liked the simple, no frill specs in the L model. So far, I have clocked a little over 10,000km as yet. (Need to take her out more). w/ smiles Jimmy Last edited by Jimmy Chen Shiba DDS; 05-22-2009 at 11:53 AM. Reason: spelling correction |

With the Daytona and 275 GTB in the garage, is the Dino seeing much road time?

| As a matter of fact, I do take Dino out for a spin at least once a week. Actually, Dino is an "easy" car to drive compared to the rest. Dino is such a well balanced, fun car that I do not get tired of it. I don't think there's many lunatics like myself who drives Dino to/from work to Tokyo. It is a light weight (relative) car w/ less than 200HP, but more than enough power for all scenes. Definitely, not as nervous as Daytona or 275 but Dino's got poise and character of its own. Excellent road handling, more than enough power for streets, winding roads, or highways, and chain-driven screaming sound is like listening to one's favorite rock music. Driver's space is a common complaint, but I look at it the other way, as a matter of fact, the crampiness is part of the virtue of Dino. Driver adapts to the car, not the other way around. Sorry, Boxer,...I'm ranting again. w/ smiles Jimmy

I've just bought a 246GT and am having quite a bit of work done to it at present. It's had 4 previous owners and had extensive work done over the years including a colour change back in 1981. It's in pretty good shape generally but is getting both mechanical and cosmetic attention. Model: 246 GT Year: 1972 Country: UK Steering: RHD Original colour: Bianco Polo Current colour: Rosso Corsa Interior colour: Nero vinyl Here are a few pics - 2 are courtesy of Boxer who saw it on Friday. |

I'm trying to do as much research as possible on Dinos so that I get the car back into a fairly original state. Reading Ferrari's own website info I'm pretty sure my car is a series M model and think I'm correct in saying this means it should have the mousehair dash? It's currently covered in a vinyl like finish but it's not the Zebra type vinyl fitted to the rest of the interior so I'm not sure if it's mousehair that's simply lost it's flock type covering.
