Got a serial number? Its racing provenance and general history will affect the price. Jeff |

Ed- Jim's car is a prototype show car, but chassis and drivetrain are virtually the same. Boxer- One of Ferrari's most attractive designs, and tiny to boot. Weight was extremely low. The 206 S was an interesting car. 2 liter V-6 Dino motor. Some were done with Webers and some, the one pictured, with fuel injection. Lots of period racing. Saw one up close and personal years back at an FCA National at Rroad America. Dave Seibert owned it. Like Taz said - they are very small. Look back at the Targa Florio - these competed there; especially well suited to the roads. Ed Niles has some nice stories on when he had his. That one went to Bill Schwoer. Jeff |

Boxer- For a driver, no race history is probably a good thing. For price, too.

Be very careful. There is a very good fake making the car show rounds trying to establish legitimacy. And I have little doubt it was for the purpose of selling the car. It fooled some very knowledgeable people at Cavillino. 3 judges, myself included, at Concorso Italiano were assigned to tell the owner his car will no longer be judged until proof of its provenance can be shown. He had a million stories but no proof. It is a legit # but known to have been destroyed early in life. He is well known in the Ferrari community and accepted as someone of integrity by many. Due diligence must always be employed. The waters are shark infested, sometimes by sharks with acceptable names. Never accept face value claims, I don't care who is making them. By legit number do you mean it was something else before it was a 206S? This topic stirred up a hornets nest at the other place.
