Mike Sheehan is offering offering a 1972 Dino (Ferrari) 246 GTS for sale. Details are: s/n 03916, a beautifully restored and very well-sorted USA model 246 GTS with only 36,941 miles, for the affordable price of...

The owner is extensive Ferrari owner Skeets Dunn, and I saw this Dino at the Symbolic open house March 2009. This Dino was fresh and displayed in Symbollic's paint prep room where I talked to the 2 staff there. The color is not Anthracite but Grigio Silverstone, a modern color which looks brilliant and the paint application quality is top notch.

Then, both staff lean over to me, lower their voices, and tell me they tried to talk the owner out of this color and go with a more vintage grey.

Well, the price isn't as bad as this one!!!! Chrysler : 300 Series Chrysler : 300 Series | eBay

I think the only thing this car is good for is "target practice"....

It is at least a 21st century record.

It does beg the question, if a V6 mid engine Dino is worth $350k, how much should a V12 mid engine 365 BB truly be valued at?

There must be a couple of Kilos of Columbian Marching Powder in the wheel arches. Sorry but that Dino is SOOOOO molested - I can't see how it could command half the asking price. Read the full description on the car - it's had more work done to it than Joan Rivers.

Sandy it really is hard to try to figure out what drives the market. Guess the Dinos are very sought after cars. I personally have much more fun driving my BB than the Dino. But if I mentioned on these Fsites that my BB was for sale I probably would not receive one inquiry. However buried in a thread about another car I mentioned that I will probably be selling my Dino......I received 6 PMs within a few hours. No marketing effort started yet, but a mere comment generates instant response.

So what exactly made that car worth $300+K? Best I can figure is it was exactly what a buyer with gobs of cash wanted. So I'm willing to bet that sale won't be repeated for some time, or that it represents the current market.

shocking that he drove a 300c..... Guess it wasn't pimped out because it was leased.

Something seems odd about this sale. It was only listed for a couple days, and sold for a record price.
