Who knows which bumper was delivered at a new 206GT and the early 246 L version ? Many Ferraristi never saw this step in the bumper. Some italian delivered cars have the bumper step and i had in 1974 a L- 246 which had a flat bumper without this step at the fenderside.(Germany) It looks that in different countries were the Dinos delivered with a different bumperlook. |

| Dino 206 and early 246GT-Tipo L had bumpers that are different than the Dinos beyond. Their bumpers were thinner with wrap around and into the front grill. I believe he is talking about the tail end of the bumpers (near front fenders) that have a "stepped" contour at the terminal. My Dino is just that. Sorry I do not have a close up shot of that part, but maybe you can make it out from the pics below. w/ smiles Jimmy |

Thanks Jimmy. I can see what he was asking about now, i was not sure if he was talking about the angle of the front bumper, i had never noticed the step before, very subtle |

Thanks for the discussion. But who knows for which countries which bumpers came toi the market. I am shure that it was not in Germany since i had a new first series 246Gt in that time and i had no bumper edge car. Maybe the US models had ? Happy New Year Tony |

Also, the occasional L models that come up on sale had the bumpers replaced for whatever reason it had. Many of the details are not correct and many times, sellers are not familiar with the details. w/ smiles Jimmy Last edited by Jimmy Chen Shiba DDS; 01-03-2011 at 01:11 AM. Ciao Jimmy, i bought the car new. The french cars had also different bumpers with a kind of protection across the nose. I tooked the bumpers off in that time and it looked more sporty. At one Dino 246 i painted the wheels yellow, it looked like the Dino race cars. But soon i changed back to normal. Best Regards Tony |

I agree, Tony, without the bumpers, especially rear view, reminds me of racing Dinos. w/ smiles Jimmy

Beautiful Dino Jimmy! And she looks stunning in black. In some shots I see a tan interior with later Dino-type headrests, whilst in other shots I see a gorgeous red interior with the earlier (proper?) Dino-type headrests. I'll get me anorak now...

Beautiful pics Jimmy. I especially like the third from last. WIth the lighting and the black car, it shows off the lines magificently. How could this car have ever been deemed as 'lesser' Ferrari? It looks wonderful. Barry Ferrari's: 360 Modena F1, 308 GT4 Other Italians: Ducati 916, Ducati 848 DD's: RR Sport, BMW 645ci, BMW 1200GS Adv. |

Thanx for the comments and very keen eyes. Few shots with the tan Daytona like seats w/ headrests were the shots of the car as was when I bought it from the previous owner. The car came with the original seats (without headrests) and I had the interior redone when I bought the car. Here's what it looked like when the car arrived. Note the small, old Euro plate. w/ smiles Jimmy
