this tube must be separate part and is surely not possible to be cast with gearbox case. there must be some sealing between tube and gearbox casting regards howard |

Enclosed a picture of my transmission/engine sump casting where the casted tube is visible. I have not seen the drive train apart and only have pictures, but the workshop claim that the tube is part of the casting. Pic show first test filled with petrol to see if any leak apear. Driver train was then assembled and the fault still "in place". Driver train taken a part again and entire housing fitted with lock-plates and pressure tested in water bassin at 20 degree C and 80 degree C. No leaks detacted. Workshop claim that the fault is related to gasket/sealing assemble fault (the visible seal at the picture). I hope they are right but will only know when I start using the car april 2010. Meanwhile I was curious to hear if anyone elso has experienced a similar fault on a 246 drive train. Regards Anton | |
