Default The New FF Has Arrived...

So fellow members, now that we've seen what the new FF looks like along with it's specs, any thoughts or comments?

Looks like the BMW Z4 coupe. Which I always thought looked odd. Too much like a hatchback station wagon, not sedan-like. As far as competing four seaters, Maserati and Aston much nicer, even Porsche, which I'm not fond of, looks better.

I had the exact same thought the second I saw it. Just a big BMW. It does absolutely nothing for me. But, to each his own, guess they are trying to cover all the bases.

I assume they've established a demand for it???

THIS looks like a really bad idea..... wtf..... et tu Ferrari? What next a Fiat Punto with ferrari designed engine? Enzo is spinning at warp speed in his grave.

+1 on the Z4 coupe.... If I'm not mistaken isn't that not such a hot seller for BMW as well?

So far it seems like many people even friends and family I've spoken to already, all have the same view about it. I'll have to see it in the flesh, cause a lot of the time pictures dont do a car justice.

If you haven't already seen it, here's the video that you see when visiting the official site www.ferrarifour.com It starts off with the test mule but you get to see quick glimpses of the real car (at night) towards the end.

A lot of people said that about the California, too, and it is still marginal, as best. This car will never make it to marginal...

Not ugly, but not pretty.

Bland.

Not to mention that it could very well be a Toyota or a Hyundai or a Tata.

No Pininfarina badges to be seen on it. Was it an in-house styling job?

The Pinifarina badges are just visible in the usual place on the sill (rocker cover).

Interesting so see what direction the marketing people are advising the company to take.
2 thoughts: 1- I understand that new designs for Ferrari's often needed some time to be accepted afterwards (at least to a certain level, think Daytona in '69)

2- I (and many I would guess) get an additional understanding why the Ferrari classics will be always in demand to a certain degree.

Default Wow

From a business perspective, I understand the need to expand with a vehicle that will accomodate a family, because let's face it, more families (like myself) would love to own a useful Ferrari that can be driven regularly.

However, unlike Aston that modified their vehicle to be one of the coolest looking 4-seaters, and even Porsche who built something that looks quite attractive, they went in a completely odd direction with this. I for one think it is horrendous - but I guess time will tell and the market will decide.

Wonder how many bags of mulch she'll hold? Looks like I might trade in my Chevy SS454 on one of these. I think Ferrari outdid themselves on this one!

It seriously looks like a Z4 with a hint of Mazda 3 thrown in for good measure. Pininfarina designed this?

And I'm sorry screenap, It dilutes the brand to have a make like Ferrari try to be all things to all people. Part of the allure of a Ferrari is seeing its heritage complete with warts in all of their products. I don't get this move at all. In fact, if the desire was to build a product with more accessability why not bring the Dino back? Are they not a producer of sports and GT cars? A four door hatch does not scream sports or GT car to me. It screams appliance.

Leave the shooting brake concepts to the sultan.
