Just awesome, Jimmy. Quality work - you must be VERY happy with this car and the history file you have.

I think, judging from the number plate, this was a French car before the restoration, correct? It doesn't state in the FL registry, only that it was sold to the US in 1980. Do you know anything of its early history?

Thanx to all, so glad that you enjoyed it. Onno, I believe this car was initially Italian registered, moved around and was in France prior to coming into Japan. w/ smiles Jimmy

Thank you a lot for all those pics .Very informative.

I have a question for all 365 BB owner:I read on another forum that the 365 BB Gearbox needed to be overfilled with 2 more liter of oil.
Jimmy Do you know what quantity of liter of oil was added to your gearbox?

Here a Scan of the 365 BB Owner Manual

I will ask my specialist. But the way I read the thread between Drew and David is that supposedly a modification was made that increased the gearbox oil capacity from 5.75 to 7.75 litres from #17743 by changing the overflow tube. David's car (which he has owned for 25 years) is #18307 but he says it does not have this modification. Question is, therefore, whether your (#18011) or mine (#17977) would have this modification. Jimmy's (#17585) shouldn't have it.

David's way of dealing with it is to fill with 7.75L but he doesn't state whether that causes an overflow. If it doesn't, it certainly seems the correct amount to put in.

Not in my experience. You fill it up to the designated level only.

When I had bought my car it had the tube modification with a little cap and spring system at the end.
I removed the tube and inserted the cap and spring directly on the "gearbox ending" (like my BB512 had ,perhaps that I would not have had ,I think I will put the tube back like it was)

It looks like Jimmy's car has the tube modification.

With the departure of the 275 GTB/4 is the 365BB seeing a bit more road time?
