Boxer just said something like, "If you want to make up time on the highway the F40 is the car to do it in." He is very subtle. When Boxer refers to a car as being, "not too bad." that means it is probably better than anything I've ever driven in my life.
That is very nice to say. I didn't think I could describe the experience accurately. I admit that I was a bit scared of the power and if I could own one, I would probably take one of those race driving classes so that the car would not go to waste puttering around on the freeway at 80, 90 or maybe an occasional 100 mph +. Boxer, enjoy that car and be careful driving it. I can now see how easy it is to lose control and get hurt or worse. Keep us posted on the Boxer hunt.

Just for the record, stile - alpine did PM me to ask when we were going on that southeast asia ride. You better make sure your garage door is locked Boxer, there is an American and a Brazilian that want to come over there and "borrow" your F40. We'll just take it for a nice, careful, spin around the block, 15 minutes to a half hour tops, I promise.

OK! That's it! I'm going to be banging on your door and demanding a ride in that car! I promise I won't take it to southeast asia. I wouldn't even think to ask to drive. I'll be content in the passenger seat. Although I will want a photo of me in the driver's seat! I'll blow that up for a poster for my new garage. It will hang right over the bay where I store my 308. (just over the registration plate from the Netherlands that I got from Basosz's Dad).

Ingram, Very good advice on the racing classes for anyone purchasing a very high performance car. I have actually done a couple of different classes/courses, a number of track days, and spent time on the track several times with Ferrari instructors.

My old 365BB is up for sale again: Blue Chip and Competition Cars - Ferrari 365 GT4 BB

Looks like it has only done about 500 miles since I sold it back in 2006.

Gorgeous car, rhd and too early for me. Fine example, shame on only 500 miles

The lack of use would really concern me if I was to repurchase it. When I bought it originally, it had not seen much use in several years. Seemed that every time I took it out, some minor issue popped up. After a couple of years I had gotten almost all sorted nut I am sure many would now have returned. These are cars that really suffer if not used.
