Default 512 bb tires

sorry for the confusion, but thanks for the help.
my 79 512 has the standard 15' wheels and you can run the michelins xwxs or the other best bet is to run goodyear 70 series rsa tires.
my question is---what do people think about those michelins??
should I keep them or am I risking my life on old design tires?
thanks

It was a respected high-performance tire in its day and I'm sure new ones made today (using modern-tech. rubber compounds) would be just fine performance-wise.

What would be scary is doing high-speed driving on 20+ year old Michelins... The ones on my GT4 were as hard as hockey pucks, I could break traction at any speed with almost no throttle imput. Plus I didn't trust all of those cracks running along the sidewalls.

I wouldn't put inch size tires on metric rims. They are not made for it and they very well could pop off the rim! (or they'd ballon-out so much that they'd stress the rubber and possibly blow).
