I'd love a 512TR if it wasn't so cheesy looking. Apologies to any 512 TR fans out there but I just can't do it!

Well I have to say I love the looks, it certainly makes a statement, but when you see one on the road I think its amazing - There's something about the 512 TR that's so appealing (Maybe its the Don Johnson in me :-) ) - Having said all that I doubt its as any way near reliable as a Marenello and defiantly not "stealthy" - Not that the straight pipes on my 550 allow me to be very stealthy I have to say :-) - The noisy Bast*rd as my wife calls it!

It takes one to know one! I moved to Los Angeles 3 months ago from London. Having a garage hold such fascination for me I'm struggling to contain myself with excitement. Now I just need to fill it up with toys.

Hi there Hammaglamma, dont let the horror stories put you off. If you really like the Boxer go for it is my advice. They are a very underrated Ferrari in my view. I bought a 512BB for much the same reasons as you describe (with my heart in my mouth to some degree - given all the stories, miths & legends that are out there). I absolutly love it! No real problems (just routine maintenance basically) and every outing is a real occasion. I just made sure that I bought a car with a very good maintenence history. Carbs are a must as far as Im concerned. All the very best. S

+1. Indeed, every outing is an occasion with a Boxer. After a spin and getting out of the car, you know you drove a Ferrari. w/ smiles Jimmy

That's what I'm talking about, the BB is the car I really want. I'm after that 'holy crapski, that was cool' feeling when I shut it off!

Indeed then, BB is the car you are after, an epoch making, dramatic departure from the past in design ushering in the 80's era. It is a car to be driven with an attitude, definitely not a casual driving beauty, and when you are bonded with her, it is an exhilarating and exhausting experience to be savored. Good luck in your search. w/ smiles Jimmy
