Default Honey, my Mondial Roof has Shrunk

Can anyone offer advice on the mondial convertible roof? The roof is in very good condition but when pulled closed it rests about half an inch short of the windscreen frame. When the catches are used to close the roof they are under enormous stress and in fact one has broken (now fixed). Is there a way to stretch the roof so that it rests forward by another half inch? Thanks.

Tough one. Those roofs are a pain either way. I actually struggled with ours last Sat. trying to get it down until I realized I had a hinge strut wrong: don't know how that happened, when corrected it went down like a charm

enough digress:

IF it is truly shorting, then you might get some stretching liquid. or just wet it a bit, let sit in the sun and try again ... the cloth should expand a bit. They are tight which is why Pininfarina did such an awsome job on the roof: It is the best ferrari folding rag top I know. The latches should not really be used to put it in locking place. as you'll bust them. I know of a guy who makes better than OEM using stainless steel not AL.

IF 1" Short: You got prolblems...somethings not right there. They DO come a bit short, but you are sounding like it is truly short. Loosen the latches a bit if needed.

Rik

You should provide a road side assistance to Elaine!

Sounds like she's tops!
