The Michelin TRX tyres on my 412 are 255/45/415 costing £430.00 each . What are the alternatives if any ? Can I put 255/45/r17 on the same wheels ? If so what will be the difference ?

J- Unfortunately not, you need new wheels or you are stuck with the TRX tires. 415 mm is equivalent to a 16.34" wheel, so no way English diameter tires (16", 17") will work. In the long run, it will be cheaper to get new wheels and you will have a wider selection of tires. See if any of these appeal to you or you can try and find a set of the 7.5Jx16" wheels that were optionally available.
