A good buy for me is a quality vehicle that will hopefully appreciate over time and will not run 10-20% of purchase price per year to maintain. Oh, and would i be proud for my child to inherit
There is a lot to learn about 400's. This car is a good example of some of the things most people don't know. I'll tell you just one; that car does not have 42,000 miles on it. That is a stickered speedo. No 400's came from the factory with mph speedos they all had kph. It was quite common to place a sticker over the face of the speedo. Look very close around the green indicator light and you'll see the white outline of the paper sticker.

So that means it's not 42,440 miles but 42K Km. That translates to 26,312 miles It's HIGHLY unlikely that's the original/actual mileage. I'd say it probably refers to the mileage since the restoration.

My concerns about keeping one of the GT4s, 365/400/412 cars over the long haul is that they have never been top sellers or even really among the most desirable Ferraris.

I dont believe they will be devalued unless something really radical comes along to change gasoline powered automobiles in which case we are all taking a serious bath.

Some of them are relatively rare/uncommon but not for the right reasons as say a 250GTO or such.

I guess I see them overall as an ok place to park money and just pay maintenance and enjoy a front engine V12 (or mid engine V8). But not for investment purposes. For investments you really need to go to a more traditional two seater from before 1975 or maybe a 4 seater from the 1960s.

impressions?
Everyone of us interpret and value things in our own perspective, thus see things differently. It is a "good buy" (whatever you mean by that phrase) if you gain something positive out of that. w/ smiles Jimmy
