Not surprising at all. The bearing wear was not at all normal either. Too many rebuilding these motors that just don't get it.

The chassis in the C4 is much more at home at low and moderate speeds. Handles well but not as at home being really aggressively driven.

Daytona on the other hand undergoes a real metamorphosis as the speedometer winds around into the triple digits. You can really tell what the factory chassis tuners were doing on the test drives.

Default Update

The engine came back together without any issues a couple of weeks ago just in time for a carby V12 Ferrari meet in Tasmania. This involved about an 1800 mile round trip including an overnight ferry crossing and travelling around the island on great and relatively unpoliced roads with about 40 other cars. The car performed flawlessly and the fresh engine is just fantastic, so much more power Some pics below

Sounds like a great trip and that is some collection of cars, including that 275 GTB/C. Do not often see three GTC/4s parked together, let alone all of them painted Rosso Corsa.

Engine looks beautiful and it is nice to have techs who know what they are doing.

Roads were fantastic and perfectly suited to the old bangers with long sweeping curves as well as a few twisty bits thru the mountains to keep you awake That 275 had an exhaust note to die for, just glorious. It was just great to be surrounded by by so many of the old V12s, a real privilege.

Tasmania has become a real driver's destination in Australia. I'm sure they turn a blind eye to speeding as many of the towns are reliant on the various car clubs coming through. Only saw one cop car in our travels

Your 365 looks great, and sounds like a good location for a drivers weekend. Maybe too far for a FLED?!

Thanks for posting the pics...

Engine looks great and it sounds like a wonderful event.

Regarding American fast food, it is nearly impossible to escape fom McDonalds anywhere on the planet these days.

vacation in Belize, didn't see one there. And apparently there isn't one in the entire country!

Excellent stuff! I like the GTC/4. Underrated but getting prettier by the day.
