My 1986 mondial 3.2 stars fine when cold, but after warm up, if I let it sit for an hour or two,it will bearely start, and when it does, it sounds like it is running on a couple of cylinders, but it slowly clears up, running on all cylinders, you can still ear it skip form time to time under a load, and also at idle, but not constantly. I have changed the wire and plugs so far but no improvements. any suggestions/ experience with this problem?

Time to check the fuel accumulator....it is supposed to hold pressure in the fuel system after shut down. If it is leaking then the beast can be tough to start when hot. Brock I sure do feel a lot more like I do now than when I first got here.... '86 Mondial Coupe '73 BMW 2000 Touring tii '01 BMW R1100S, '04 MV Agusta Brutale |

thanks bokelley, I will check the shop manual, and figure out how to do that. But at this point I am leaning toward an electrical issue.(coil-Cap) last night on a drive out to dinner my "slow down" light kept on coming on. The cat. must be getting hot, and I was not pushing it by any means. It suggests to me that raw fuel (unburned) is getting to the cat. and I could hear it skip at idle, here and there but not a constant skip, which it would be easy to pin down. I need to find out how to check the ignition coils.
