mondial ashtray heat?????

my ashtray gets too hot to touch ,has anyone else had this problem?
the metal ashtray on the centre consul is never used but gets very very hot on a long journey.can anyone tell me what is under the centre consul to make such heat.

No there should not be anything from what I can tell that would cause the heat other than a short of some sort maybe. You need to investigate I think.

I have never actually checked mine so cannot be 100% certain but 18 months ago I had a short on the cigarette lighter and that smelled got hot and blew the fuse. I had to replace some of the lighter cable.
